The “Basic Eventhandler Package” add-on is used to enable the WPITCOM Display Box to send messages (Events) originating from defined external or internal sources in order to trigger different screen content based on theses events received. By also using the “Hardware Director” add-on, these message can even enable or disable GPIO-connected external devices on demand.
This add-on to the WPITCOM Display Box 2 enables the software to listen to a number of external sources and is also the basis for advanced add-ons like “GPIO Interface”, “Termperature Sensors” or “Alert Manager” and is required for them to operate.
Depending on the configuration, the “Basic Eventhandler Package” can listen to a device and transfer the message (event) to the PRESTIGEenterprise DisplayEngine H5, which will react in displaying the defined playlist this message ( event ) received.
The “Basic Eventhandler Package” is therefor the key opener for a varierty of interactive digital signage ideas and solutions.
Please note: Some event handlers need additional modules to be licensed.
The add-on supports sending the locally received event to up to 128 other devices to trigger the same event on these devices as well, so one hardware component can act as the master source for all other defined devices, based on their IP4 network address.
The “Basic Eventhandler Package” is also the “bridge” to the add-on “Hardware Director”, which can be configured to listen on the messages / events sent out be the “Basic Eventhandler Package” and perform switching on or off external devices, which are connected to a GPIO port of the supported system as well, so that even sophisticated digital projects can be designed without further programming.
The base parameters for each of the supported event handlers can be simply defined in the on-screen configuration of the WPITCOM Display Box Software – for security reason, advanced settings need to be defined in well-documented configuration files in the device.
