Return To ShopThe “GPS Location Eventhandler” add-on enables the WPITCOM Display Box 2 Software read and interpret GPS location from a connected supported NMEA183 device and iniate DisplayEngine events or hardware events based on a definition of locations when and where to initiate these events.
This add-on to the WPITCOM Display Box Software reads frequently the location where the device or the vehicle is currently located in order to verify whether for this location a DisplayEngine Event has been defined. Each device can be configured differently to support different routes. Several settings can be defined per location including the repetition of the events when entering and the distance around the defined location to be triggered on.
Enters a vehicle in the defined rectangle around this define location, which is described by the standard of longitude and lattitude of the location, an even is iniated once. Depend on the settings, the event is repeated a number of defined time while inside the defined rectangle.
As described above, the event is iniated when the device enters the defined zone ( rectangle around the defined location ). By using the PRESTIGEenterprise server, a playlist can be defined for this message (event), containing for instance a commercial regarding a store or point of interested, or an information regarding the next stop / station. Cascading definitions of locations are possible in the configuration, so that another message may be iniated when the device is 500m away from the location, or the device is just 100m away from the defined GPS location. The typical location measurement resp. reading tolerances ( often depending on the used GPS-NEMA183 receiver ) apply and should be considered when defining the configuration.
By incorporating the optional “Hardware Director” add-on, even external devices can be switched on or off, depending on the GPS location.
By incorporating the optional “Alert Manager” add-on, emergency messages can be display on the screens, if devices have connection to the central server. Content to be displayed is normally pre-cached, so that even operation under “rough” conditions / bad network connection should be possible.
Please consider to contact our customer service to get more information on the manufacture’s contacts and their supported USB hardware extensions.
By using the required add-on “Basic Eventhandler Package”, the GPS events can be broadcasted to a number of non-GPS equipped devices within the vehicle, so that the hardware invstment can be reduced. All received WPITCOM Display Boxes will nearly simultaneously display the playlist associated with the received message, where the message can even be different depending on the receiving device.
