WPITCOM Cafeteria Solution automates order taking and processing in corporate cafeterias with mobile phones, tabs and screens.
Companies want to make the most of break times in their canteens: long queues for ordering and serving food reduce break times and often increase length of stay or overtime.
This can be solved by using the WPITCOM Cafeteria Solution.
Employees can digitally send their meal, drinks and dessert orders within seconds with their mobile phone or tablet to the canteen, which prepare the meals on time to reduce waiting time.
Advantages:
The integrated statistics function also makes it possible to evaluate consumer ordering preferences and opens up the possibility of optimized planning of the procurement of goods.
For supported countries, billing can be passed directly to a digital billing interface to digitally calculate the monthly employee meal share (SAT).
The system consists of several components and applications that constantly communicate with each other via secure connections.
In the web-based administration part, the different canteens and locations, their menus/dishes, prices and descriptions can be stored with images.
Employee data can be captured or imported.
Additional administration functions complete the options for easy maintenance.
The server can be installed as OnPremise (own LAN) or OnDemand (Public Cloud), depending on the customer’s requirements.
The employee uses his WPITCOM Cafeteria app to order his meal directly. He can define a pick-up time and whether he would like to pick up his meal to go.
A fully automatic notification on his mobile devices when his dish is complete ensures that the employee is always informed.
Optionally, a notification can be automatically displayed on the screens in the canteen area, possibly also with the employee’s avatar, order number and name. For this purpose, a connection to our WPITCOM Signage Manager 3 system for visual communication has already been implemented as an interface option.
This is especially useful if the employee placed the order via one of the kiosk terminals that are sometimes installed in the canteen and not with his mobile device.
Incoming orders are time-controlled held back until production time and separated by production area (cooked, salad, drinks & coffee, deserts) to be transfered to the touch displays/tablets in the specific producton area – which are mounted normally at eye level height.
The cook or service staff confirms the (partial) product completion on the touch screen. As a result of the final completion, the customer, if he has placed the order via his own mobile device, will be informed by a message that his menu is ready for collection.
Optionally, an announcement with or without audio signal can be sent to one or more displays operated with WPITCOM Signage Manager 3.
This is especially helpful if the employee placed the order through one of the kiosk terminals that are sometimes installed in the dining room and not with their mobile device.
The customer can now pick up his menu at the service counter. He is identified by an NFC/RFID card or by his own PIN number, based on his order number or a name.
If an employee account is stored for the customer, a credit sale will be made within defined limits; different prices and rules may apply to employees and guests.
In addition, guests and employees can have credit accounts from which they are billed.
The sale of commercial items, for example ice cream, snacks, soft drinks, is possible at any time by means of an “additional reservation”.
Optionally, receipt printing is possible using compatible receipt printing systems/printers or label printers.
Accumulated orders and their status can be consulted at any time via the web platform by authorized administrative staff or the head chef.
Billing to the employee is usually summarized over the period and sent to an invoicing interface to generate tax-compliant invoices (please ask for supported countries). There are different options to choose from.
As part of billing, target/actual representations are created, so that invoice comparison is greatly simplified.
The employee can manually or automatically request a detailed list of his order in the billing period or at any time in advance, or receive it as an email attachment during the current billing.
During the period of use of the system, interesting and valuable data is often generated in the canteen process in numerous ways that can be used for optimization.
Listing all the potentials and possibilities here would go far beyond the scope of this short presentation.
For example: Using order and sales data, the quantity of ingredients in the order can be further optimized, purchasing and delivery conditions can be better negotiated and thus contribute to cost optimization.
